The Youth in Arts Gallery is dedicated to celebrating children as artists. It is also committed to illustrating the impact of arts education for all learners and inspiring and providing opportunities for art making.
The YIA Gallery presents between 5-7 exhibits per year, most of which showcase the multi-disciplinary work of Youth in Arts’ students while also exploring the connection between YIA Mentor Artists and the work of their students. In addition to presenting final work, the exhibits also uncover the art making process, a layered experience that ignites new ideas, build individual awareness, and encourages cultural and personal identity. Each exhibit is complemented with hands-on art-making experiences for the public that provoke inquiry and inspiration.
The YIA Gallery is located at 917 C Street in downtown San Rafael. Regular hours are 11-2, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend hours for announced special events, or by appointment.
