Through our Artists in Schools program (AIS), Youth in Arts brings Mentor Artists into your classroom to provide high quality instruction in a wide range of visual and performing art forms--from drawing and painting to sculpture and mixed media--as well as music, dance, theatre, puppetry and new media arts like digital storytelling, video and web production. Many of our artists are specialists in culturally specific art forms like African mask-making, Mexican paper art, Central Asian dance or Capoeira.

VSA arts (Vision, Strength, Accessibility) provides similar programs for special needs students, both in Special Day classrooms and integrated into mainstream classes. Youth in Arts has a roster of artists with specific expertise in working with students with disabilities.

Packages are available at many levels of intensity, from a single course to a schoolwide program. Youth in Arts educational staff work with you to develop a program that addresses your needs, as well as state standards in Visual and Performing Arts. We can also provide teacher training programs from one-day professional development workshops to fully customized training courses.

A limited amount of scholarship funding is available to support programs in schools that lack resources for the arts.
