I AM: Laurel Dell Mural Dedication

“There’s Always Room for Another Lion in the Den” was created in the fall of 2024 as part of Youth in Arts’ Intensive Arts Mentorship program. This mural was made possible through a collaboration between San Rafael City Schools and Youth in Arts. Under the guidance of Mentor Artists Fredericko “Fred” Alvarado and Keena Azania Romano, nine emerging youth artists worked alongside the students and families of Laurel Dell Elementary to bring this vision to life.
Emerging Youth Artists: Jorge Castillo, Yadriel Gonzalez, Sydney Lewis, Sydney Lin, Jason Lopez, Kathryn Lowenstein, Avani Mahyavanshi, Ella Snyder, and Hayley Truong.
