INSPIRE: Teaching Artist Show Opens September 30

“Please share how the work you do in the classroom INSPIRES your personal artistic practice. How do you INSPIRE your students? How do they INSPIRE you?” These are the question we posed to the teaching artists featured in this year’s INSPIRE exhibition, on view at the YIA Gallery beginning on September 30. This annual exhibit of original paintings, works on paper, prints, photography, textiles, sculpture and more, explores the connections between North Bay teaching artists’ professional work and ideas they share with their students. It is the only Youth in Arts exhibition that features work by adults in our kid-focused gallery, and all works are marked for sale.

This year we will be hosting a special opening reception on October 14 coinciding with the Second Friday Artwalk in the Downtown San Rafael Arts District. The event will feature a hands-on art making experience in our free community ArtLab, and a performance by Youth in Arts’ award winning teen a cappella troupe, `Til Dawn.
